Apostille Attestation Services Dubai

Your Best Choice for Document Legalization

Apostille services in Dubai for documents going to, or coming from, Apostille Convention countries.

An apostille is the certificate an issuing country adds to a public document so that other Apostille Convention countries accept it without further legalisation. Dunes arranges apostilles in the country where your document was issued — for degrees, birth and marriage certificates, police certificates and company documents — and coordinates any UAE steps that follow.

Because the UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, documents used in the UAE also need UAE embassy and MOFA attestation, and UAE-issued documents are legalised through MOFA and embassy attestation instead of an apostille. We plan the right route for your document from the start.

What is Apostille Attestation?

An apostille confirms the signature, seal or stamp on a public document so it is accepted in other countries that are party to the 1961 Hague Apostille Convention. It is issued by a designated authority in the country where the document was issued, not by the country where it will be used.

Apostille Services for Documents Used in the UAE

If your document was issued in an Apostille Convention country — for example the United Kingdom, the United States, India, Pakistan, the Philippines or most European countries — and it will be used in the UAE, the apostille is usually only the first step. The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention (HCCH status table), so the document normally also needs:

  • An apostille (or other authentication) in the issuing country
  • Attestation by the UAE embassy or consulate in that country
  • MOFA attestation in the UAE
  • A legal Arabic translation, if the UAE authority asks for one

We arrange the apostille in the issuing country and coordinate the UAE steps, so you deal with one provider from start to finish. For UK documents, see our UK apostille and attestation for UAE service.

UAE Documents Going to Apostille Countries

Documents issued in the UAE cannot be apostilled, because the UAE has not joined the Apostille Convention. Instead, UAE documents are legalised for use abroad through:

  • Authentication by the UAE issuing authority where required (for example the Ministry of Education or a notary)
  • MOFA attestation
  • Attestation by the embassy or consulate of the destination country in the UAE
  • A translation into the destination country’s language, if requested

We check the destination country’s requirements before submission. Not sure which route you need? Read MOFA attestation vs apostille: which do you need?
