Rental Disputes Centre Documents: What Must Be Translated Into Arabic
The Dubai Rental Disputes Centre requires documents to be in Arabic or legally translated. If your tenancy contract, legal notice or evidence is in English or another language, it needs a legal translation before you file. This guide lists what the centre asks for and which documents usually need translating.

Rental Disputes Centre Documents and Arabic Translation
The Dubai Land Department’s first instance lawsuit service says that all documents submitted must be in Arabic or legally translated, that documents are uploaded to the centre’s portal, and that no hard copies are received. Requirements can change, so check the service page before you file.
Last reviewed: 25 October 2026. Requirements change, so we verify them with the relevant authority before you submit anything.
Tenancy Contract
The service page asks for a translated copy of the last tenancy contract (Ejari). If your contract is in English only, it needs a legal Arabic translation.
Legal Notices
For eviction cases the centre asks for a copy of the legal notice with proof of delivery. A notice written in another language should be translated.
Supporting Evidence
Correspondence, violation notices, utility bills and cheques can be submitted as supporting evidence. Anything not in Arabic needs translation.
Powers of Attorney and Company Documents
A notarised power of attorney, and for a company the manager’s ID and latest trade licence, may be needed. Foreign-language versions need a legal translation.

What the Centre Asks For
According to the Dubai Land Department’s service page, the documents include:
- A translated copy of the last tenancy contract (Ejari)
- The UAE ID for an individual, or the manager’s ID and latest trade licence for a company
- A valid management contract, if applicable
- A bank letter or account statement showing the plaintiff’s IBAN
- For eviction cases, a copy of the legal notice with proof of delivery
Conditional documents include a notarised power of attorney, the heirs’ distribution decree if the lessor is deceased, the offer and deposit receipt for renewals, and supporting evidence such as correspondence, violation notices, utility bills or cheques.

How to Prepare Your Translation
- Collect the full documents, including every page, annex and stamp
- Send clear scans so numbers and dates are legible
- Tell us the filing deadline
- Ask us to translate the whole file together so names and figures match across documents
Translations must be complete and match the originals exactly. The UAE government states that foreign-language documents must be translated by a legal translator approved by the Ministry of Justice.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Translating only part of a tenancy contract
- Different spellings of the same name across documents
- Sending an unreadable scan
- Waiting until the deadline to translate evidence
- Assuming a translation is not needed because the other party reads English
